§ 16 · Impact & ESGSection 16

An ecosystem measured in the open.

HFMN reports environmental, social and governance impact across clusters, cooperatives and product lines — building a transparent baseline for Nepal's textile future.

The Story

Numbers grounded in place.

The impact figures on this page correspond to specific villages, specific cooperatives and specific ropani of land. We publish them because the sector deserves an honest ledger, and because a national programme is only as credible as the numbers behind it.

Environment, society and governance — a transparent baseline for Nepal's textile future.

16.3

Governance impact

Producer records, traceability, ethical sourcing and public transparency across all HFMN operations.
16.4

Annual reports

HFMN will publish annual ESG and impact reports as clusters and producer networks mature.
In Practice

Impact, as we count it.

Everything HFMN does — from a mulberry seedling to a finished bolt of cloth — is stewarded by a real cooperative, a real weaver and a real ledger. This is a snapshot.
01
Households

Income baselines

We record household income at cluster onboarding and again each year — so the impact number is a delta, not a marketing figure.

02
Ecology

Ropani under regenerative

Mulberry, dye-plant and fibre-crop area is tracked ropani by ropani, with soil and water indicators reported alongside.

03
Governance

Cooperatives capacitated

Registered cooperatives, trained accountants and audited books are counted the same way — publicly, per cluster.

If we cannot show the change, we have not made it.
